Retry & recovery is the operational view of a router's cascade rules and runtime MID protections. It does not create a second policy; edit and publish behavior in Routing policies.
Review cascade behavior
Select a router and revision
Open Payments → Retry & recovery, select a router, then choose its published policy or saved draft. The page shows each ordered rule, its pool sequence, maximum attempts, and the exact outcomes that allow a cascade.
Inspect MID recovery guards
Review each MID's circuit state, remaining daily capacity, consecutive technical failures, and latest provider signal. Reserved and captured amounts both reduce remaining capacity; the capacity window resets in the MID's configured timezone.
Reset a recovered circuit carefully
An open or half-open circuit keeps new payments away from a technically unhealthy MID. Reset it only after the provider or configuration has recovered. Recurrify requires a reason and makes the MID eligible immediately after the reset.
Safety behavior
- Cascades follow the active policy's pool order and attempt limit.
- Only explicitly configured definitive outcomes permit another attempt.
- Indeterminate responses stop and create reconciliation work.
- Circuit state and daily capacity are checked during candidate selection.
